Tools launcher

Where you land after signing in. It lists everything Artefact runs, marks what is switched on for you, and lets you ask for the rest.

The Tools launcher, at tools.artgrp.au, is the front door. It's where you land after signing in if you weren't headed to one specific tool already, and it's always there to come back to.

Your client desk

If the client desk is switched on for your account, it sits at the top of the launcher as a full-width panel rather than as one card among many. The desk, at desk.artgrp.au, is the single place your works, bookings, short links, documents, posts and monitors are gathered together. Open the desk first. The cards below it are the individual tools that feed it.

If there's no desk panel, the desk is further down the page as a greyed card, like anything else that isn't switched on for you yet.

Every app, not only yours

The launcher lists everything Artefact runs, not just the parts switched on for your account. Anything you can't open yet is still shown, greyed out, with a line saying why and a Request access link.

This is deliberate, and it's a change. The launcher used to hide every app you hadn't been granted, which made "Artefact hasn't switched this on for me" and "this tool doesn't exist" look identical: an empty page. You had nothing to point at when you asked. Now you can see the whole list and ask for the part you need by name.

Cards are grouped under two headings:

  • Artefact tools are the tools we run for you: the client desk, Shelf, Critique, Artefact Links. Access to each is switched on for your account one tool at a time.
  • Products are products Artefact sells and operates: CrowdSense, CrowdSense Pulse, CrowdSense Monitors, AdmitMe and SceneSync. Each of those has its own sign-in, separate from this one.

Why a greyed card isn't clickable

You can read a greyed card, but you can't click it, and that's on purpose. Most of these tools are gated before the tool itself even loads, so following the link would just bounce you off a sign-in page that can't let you through no matter what you type. There's nothing on the other side until the access exists, so the card offers Request access instead of a dead end.

Products that run their own sign-in

CrowdSense, CrowdSense Pulse, CrowdSense Monitors, AdmitMe and SceneSync each have their own accounts and their own sign-in. When one of those cards is open, the note on it says so, because the distinction matters: Artefact Tools can put the product on your launcher and pull its data onto your desk, but the username and password you use inside that product are issued by the product itself. Adding the card can't sign you in, and removing it can't lock you out.

If you're signed in to this platform but not to one of those products, ask for a login for that product specifically. It isn't the same thing as app access here.

Requesting access

Request access on a greyed card opens an email to support@artgrp.au with the app you're asking about and the account you're signed in as already filled in. Add a sentence about what you need it for and send it.

If Artefact has given you a client code, which looks like AF-XXXXXX, put it in that email. The code attaches your request to the right client and the right job, so it reaches whoever is actually running your work rather than a general queue.

What the launcher doesn't list

  • Retired tools. When Artefact shuts something down, its card is removed rather than greyed, because there's nothing left behind it to grant.
  • Artefact's internal tooling, such as the CRM and the automation runner. Those are staff-only surfaces with no client route into them, so a greyed card for one would only be noise. Artefact admins do see them.

My account

The My account tab shows who you're signed in as, your role, and the list of apps currently switched on for your account: a quick way to check what you should be able to see before you go looking for it. Sign out is here too.

Reporting a bug

On the launcher (and on the admin dashboard), a Report a bug button sits in the bottom right once you're signed in. It attaches a screenshot and the page you were on automatically, so you can describe what happened without having to explain where you were or paste in a link.

Getting into the launcher itself

There's nothing to request for the launcher: being able to sign in is enough to reach it. What's switched on once you're in is the app access described in Getting started.
