ARTEFACT. Help

Everyone new to the platform

Getting started

How to sign in, what app access means, and who to ask for help.

Every tool on this platform shares one sign-in page, so once you know how to get into one, you know how to get into all of them.

Signing in

There are two ways in, depending on who you are:

  • Artefact staff sign in with Continue with Google, using your

@artefactgroup.au account. It's the same Google Workspace sign-in behind every internal tool — one click, no separate password to remember or reset.

  • Everyone else — clients, freelance crew, suppliers, anyone we've

invited from outside the company — signs in with an email and password on that same page. You don't need a Google account, and you don't need to be an Artefact employee.

Either way, you land on the same sign-in screen and end up on the tool you were trying to reach.

What "app access" means

Being able to sign in is not the same as being able to use a particular tool. Each tool — Social, Links, Critique, Shelf — has to be switched on for your account separately, one tool at a time. We call this app access.

If you sign in successfully but see a message saying you don't have access yet, that's not a bug — it means your account exists, but nobody has turned that tool on for you. It's a deliberate safety measure: someone we invite for one job shouldn't automatically be able to open every tool we run.

Some tools also have a tier — Free, Studio, or Agency — that decides how much you can do once you're in (for example, whether you can claim a link-in-bio page in Artefact Links). A tier is separate from access itself and only matters for a couple of features; if it's relevant to you, whoever grants your access will mention it.

Who to ask

Access is granted by the Artefact Group contact running your job, or by whoever manages your workspace. Ask them directly — they can turn on access for a specific tool in a couple of clicks, and it takes effect immediately. You won't need to sign out and back in again.

What you can reach without signing in at all

Not everything needs an account. A few things are public on purpose, because the person on the other end of them was never going to have an Artefact login:

— anyone who clicks or scans it.

  • A shared Critique link (Critique) — anyone holding

the link can view, comment, and approve.

  • A client request form or lost & found report in

Shelf — no login needed on either side of that conversation.

Those stay open to the public deliberately. Everything else on this platform sits behind the sign-in above.
